Ana Pavlovic & Vladimir Tomic
In the video work Dreamland, Vladimir Tomic and Ana Pavlovic explore the exile’s state of mind through accounts of dreams by immigrants and former refugees. This extraterritorial dream space throws an interesting light on the inner life of displaced people. The narrated dreams are marked by humour and strange logic, and, set against the muted imagery of festive eating and dancing, they seem to mirror the dreamers’ everyday alienation.
